MK

MARKSCHEIDER (German) - mine surveyor, expert in subsoil and surface spatial and geometrical surveys and their subsequent rendition in plans, maps and sectional drawings used in mining and geological explorations.

The band's name contains no hidden meaning or secret references, and the things we tell you, when asked what the name means and how it came about, are pure fabrication and provocation :)

The same can be said about the musical style and tastes of the band.

Not everyone in the band blindly reveres rumba and every now and then someone, taking advantage of the general mess and confusion which accompany the overwhelming majority of rehearsals and concerts, smuggles into what at first glance seems to be roots music quite different er stuff and sometimes the end result is quite funny. Jugding by the ruminations of various journalists trying to describe MKUNST and its music, to define precisely the band's style is not an easy task at all :)

LINEUP

Even this at first glance simple and straightforward issue tends to be shrouded in confusion.

MKUNST lineup keeps on changing constantly and a lot of great men have passed through the boiling and seething rapids of the markscheider movement ever since its inception. All of them have in one way or the other influenced (and occasionally continue to influence) the music of the band.

Therefore we thought it would be just fair for us to mention everyone of them.

Sergey Efremenko (ЕFR) from 1992 - guitar, writes the songs and lyrics to them.

Vladimir Matushkin (Nguba) since 1995 - guitar

Kirill Oskin since 1992 - bass guitar

Danila Prokopyev since 2007 - drums

Kirill Ipatov since 1995 - timbales, congas, misc. percussions

Denis Anatolievich since 2000 - our coordinator (+7 911 215 99 00)

Egor Popov since 2017 - trumpet

Pavel Vasyliev since 2017 - keyboard

Anton Boyarskih since 2017 - trombone

Sergei Egorov (Snegoriy), 1992 - 2007 - drums
Serafim Makangila, 1996 - 2003 - the African presence in the band, ball of energy, dance and vocals
Mitya Khramtsov, 1996 - 1998 - harmonica
Vadim Yagman, 1999 - 2004 - trumpet
Alexey Kanev, 1999 - 2002 - saxophone
Ramil Shamsutdinov, 1999 - 2004 - trombone
Mikhail Nikolaev, 2001 - 2005 - timbales, congas
Aleksandr Plyusnin, 2003 - 2017 - trumpet
Ivan Neklyudov, 2004 - 2017 - saxophones
Anton Vishnyakov, 2005 - 2017 - trombone
Ilya (Prul') Vimenitc since 1997 - timbales, congas, misc. percussions

The band members tend to spend time in the company of other musicians, too, and as a result, find themselves participating in different musical projects. Worth mentioning are the following:

"TRESMUCHACHOS & COMPANIEROS": Orchestra of Nostalgic and Patriotic Tunes. The three muchachos in the group are Efr, Kirill and Denis (on acoustic guitar), the companieros consist of rest of the members of Markscheider Kunst, as well as various friends. TM have released one album, La Vida.
